Academy's Fall Baseball Teams (Competitive Program)

Register Now

This fall, the Northwest Baseball Academy will field competitive fall ball teams at the U-13, U-14, U-15, U16 and U-18 age groups. U15-U18 teams will be swinging wood bats.

To be on a team, each player must participate in the practice program.  Our teams will be competitive, the Practice Program is necessary to prepare the players/team for competitive games.

Games will be held in the Seattle/Edmonds/Lynnwood/Monroe area.  There may be some travel games North to Bellingham or South to Tacoma, depending on the age group.

Game times will be either Saturday and Sunday or two games on either day (2 games per weekend unless rainout make-ups are scheduled).   Games are subject to rainouts.  Every effort will be made to make up the game, however some games may be missed due to inclement weather.

The teams are open to all participants and they can register at any time.  Tryouts will not be held, teams will be formed from practice program participants.  To be on a team, each player must be a participant in the practice program.   The age groups for the 2010 fall season are based on the league age a player will be for the 2011 season.  The intent for the fall program is to prepare the player for their next season.

For 2011, the league age birth date will be April 30th.  So, what a players age on or before April 30th will be his league age.  If his birth date is May 1st or after (and for example, turns 14) he would still be considered a league age 13 year old.  Whether you are staying in Koufax or moving up to Mickey Mantle, the change will affect all age groups.  Other leagues may or may not be making this change.  You will need to contact the league you will be in for the 2010 season to determine which age group you will be for the fall season.

Scores and Stats.

Score and statistics will be kept for each game.  If a player cannot commit to the game schedule, this is not the right program for him.  If a player can make every game (or at least 14 out of 16 games) and comes to the field ready and willing to work hard, then let’s play ball!

Wood Bats

For age groups U15-U18 players will be swinging wood bats for the fall. Wood bats are used to teach the players how to hit properly and learn the finer aspects of hitting. It also rewards pitchers for being able to throw strikes. Wood bats are used in this league at the older levels because it creates a more realistic game. For the fall, the goal is to work on players weak areas. Wood bats provide better feed back for the hitter so they can begin to make the proper adjustments to their swing and find the 'sweat spot'.

Uniforms

Each player will be provided with a hat and Jersey.  Players will need to provide their own helmets, bats, cleats and baseball pants.  These items can be purchased through the Academy or on your own.
