Mission Statement

Northwest Baseball Academy is a non-profit educational organization under IRS code 501(c)3. Our organization, as well as our coaching staff, is dedicated to providing quality sports programs for community youth. Kids are the number one priority in this camp. The coaching staff will provide a safe, positive learning environment. The emphasis will be on kids increasing their personal fitness levels and motor skills. They will be learning lifelong lessons in sportsmanship and teamwork through a variety of engaging, exciting sports and cooperative games.

Camp Content: Soccer Baseball Basketball Jumping Rope Hula-Hoop In addition to providing the best possible cardiovascular workout, these sports offer kids the opportunity to learn unique individual skills in a team environment. Child to coach ratio—8:1.

Coaching Philosophy: Constantly reinforce positive affirmations towards kids. Stress participation over competition. Focus on working towards a goal as a team Be positive role models of sportsmanship and fair play. Be able to adapt to every kids needs in a positive manner. Interact with kids in an exciting manner.

Camp Director - Dan Somoza

Dan is currently the elementary Physical Education at Martha Lake Elementary. He is in his 5th year of instruction with Northwest Baseball Academy. After a successful collegiate athletic career, he coached baseball for 2 years with Bellevue Community College prior to coming to the Academy. He is currently coaching a High School select summer team and has received his Masters in Sports Management. Dan is also certified in CPR and First Aid.
